BNSF KEEPS THE AIR CLEAN WITH PURCHASE OF NEW GEVOS

The BNSF GE ES44DC is the last new locomotive to be delivered in the railroads orange/yellow/dark green and silver Heritage II scheme. In February 2005, BNSF Railway took on a new logo and slightly modified paint scheme. Marking the curtain call on this fan favorite paint scheme, you will want to make sure you have these units as part of your BNSF locomotive fleet.

The BNSF ES44DC series of 150 units from the initial order will carry four unique paint schemes, the traditional BNSF Heritage II scheme, the new image scheme with small black logo, the new image scheme with small yellow nose logo, and the final enlarged nose logo with a number of small refinements. Tower 55 Products will produce the Heritage II units and the new BNSF Railway scheme.

Historical Perspective

BNSF is one of the countries largest railroads headquartered on a beautiful campus-like setting in Ft. Worth, TX (which is also the hometown for the historical Tower 55 that we are named for). BNSF has in recent years become a GE railroad. Following the success of the C44-9W series, BNSF has supported the Evolution Series? with an early order of 30 pre-production ES44AC units, 150 ES44DC units now in production, and 50 ES44AC production units slated to begin production by mid-2005 with certainly many more to come.
