O
GP60/60M/B LOCOMOTIVE
(Technical artwork)
Introduced in 1985 as the refined
replacement for the five-year-old 50-series locomotives, the GP60
(and sister SD60) represented a significant leap in locomotive
design for EMD. Incorporating computer technology to control
locomotive operation and onboard diagnostics, the 3800 hp GP60 just
may be the ?ultimate? geep. Designed for hi-speed intermodal
traffic, this locomotive could be found on the major
transcontinental carriers in the service for which they were
designed. In fact, a variation of the GP60 become so associated
with the Santa Fe in the early 1990s, it came to represent the best
that railroads had to offer in quality service.

O SD40
SERIES LOCOMOTIVES
(Technical artwork
shown)
Introduced in 1966, the EMD
SD40 and its family of later variations, became the best-selling
diesel of all time. The SD40 and the other 1966 line-up of EMD
locos featured the new 645-series prime mover, the first major
engine change since 1939. The success of this diesel engine and the
3000 h.p. rating have made the SD40 family of locos the standard of
American railroads. Now, over three decades since their
introduction, many of these locos are still in regular mainline
operation.

O 50' PS-1
Box Cars
(Technical artwork
shown)
Like our popular
single door model, Atlas O?s NEW 50' PS-1 Double Door Box Car
represents the classic American railroads of the 1950's and 1960's,
where fifty-foot box cars became the standard. Many major railroads
owned Pullman Standard's box cars, but details were specific to the
railroad. One such detail that was different was the door style
used on the car.
Features Include:
-Highly detailed ABS body
-Etched metal roof walk
-50-ton Bettendorf or 70-ton roller-bearing sprung die-cast trucks
as per the prototype (70-ton roller-bearing trucks come with
rotating bearing caps)
-Youngstown or Pullman Standard style doors as per the
prototype
-Scale 15' door opening (7' & 8' doors) - Double car doors
only
-Separately-applied grab irons, ladders and brake line details
-Minimum diameter curve: O-31 (3-rail)
-Minimum radius curve: 36" (2-rail)
-Die-cast articulated couplers (3-rail)
-Kadee?-compatible scale couplers (2-rail)
-3-Rail trucks are pre-drilled to accept Adjust-a-Coupler? Scale
Couplers (Available Separately)
Please note: Atlas "O" scale couplers can
also be used on both 2-rail and 3-rail versions.
Four road numbers are available per road
name, except for Union Pacific which has 2.
