Atlas has announced the Premier 40 ft 40 ft Steel Reefer

FGEX was owned by 19 railroads, including PRR, B&O, SOU, SAL, CB&Q, NH, GN. Its cars were in service all over the country. As late as 1953 the FGEX roster consisted of almost 12,000 Cars. Fruit Growers was headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia and built and overhauled cars there and in a number of other locations. This model represents one of FGEX’s steel refrigerator cars, painted and lettered in the Company’s 1949 and later scheme.
