Electro Motive Division built this GP-35 locomotive in May of 1965 on builder #30130 for the Soo Line. Number 727 was repainted in 1975 and renumbered 1776 to commemorate America's bicentenial in 1976. Later it was renumbered back to 727. In 1986 it was conveyed to Wisconsin Central.
