This 40' box car, with single Superior door is painted red with large black and white "NH" letters and white lettering. It runs on black Bettendorf trucks. Built in October of 1944 by Pullman-Standard in Hammond, IN, it was equipped with six-foot doors and Dreadnaught ends. It was repainted at Readville, MA, in February 1956. The # 31000-32999 road series was the largest block of cars delivered to the New Haven during World II.
