The sheet and post style container preceded the steel containers in use today and a number of shippers continued to buy them into the steel container era because they had lighter tare weighs and a longer useful life than early steel containers.

The following new paint schemes are some of the earliest from the late nineteen seventies and early eighties. These containers are a perfect complement to 85’ and 89’ flatcars and Twinstack well cars.
