Atlas Has announced Both O-Scale 3-rail and O-Scale 2-rail 11,000 Gallon Tank Cars. See Jan 4, 2009

Dear O Scale modlers who would like to add a splash of color to their consists, get a load of the DOW of Canada in Dark Green with white lettering and a white and red DOW on a green maple leaf Logo. Or the Standard Chemical in Red with white lettering and a Red/White/Blue Logo, Even the Gray Fuelgas has a bright white and red HOMGAS Logo. Of course there are the obligatory Black Anchor Petroleum and the Loud BEACON Petroleum American Car & Foundry Tank models. So brighten up your O Scale consists with a few of these since they come in 2 numbers each. Have a look. Atlas has announced both 3 rail and 2 rail 11,000 Gallon Tank Cars. Jan 4, 2009 announced the 2 rail.

Prototype Information:
Built in the 1940s and 1950s by American Car and Foundry, this 11,000 gallon specialized tank car was designed primarily for transporting liquefied petroleum gas and became a familiar sight on many of the railroads across the country.

Features Include:
- Die-cast chassis
- Tank fittings and safety placards
- 50-ton friction-bearing trucks
- Separately-applied handrails and grab irons
- Dome and ladder variations as per the prototype
- Accurate painting and printing
- Minimum diameter curve (3-rail): O-31
- Minimum diameter curve (2-rail): 24"

Please note: Atlas "O" scale couplers can also be used on both 2-rail and 3-rail versions.
