Flat cars have been around since the early days of railroading and continue to play a part in modern railroading. Today, there are many sizes and types for different uses. These 30 ft flat cars were built in the years leading up to World War II and in the early war years too. Many went on to be used for decades. As these cars were used with both steam and diesel power, they are perfect for late steam through early diesel operations.
