HOBBYTYME DISTRIBUTORS is pleased to announce a very special locomotive to our loyal retailers. In conjunction with Broadway Limited we are producing the Strasburg M1B Locomotive. PRR #6755 is currently on static display at the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum in Strasburg Pa.
M1b STRASBURG SPECIAL #6755Originally built in the Juniata shops in 1930 as an M1a she spent the next 20 years in fast freight service. In1953 the locomotive was rebuilt as an M1b with more tractive power. She resumed fast freight service until1957 when all PRR steam was retired. During the ensuing years of Conrail receivership she was given to the Strasburg Museum as a gift in 1979. Today she sits as a static display sadly suffering from the elements. The#6755 is the largest surviving PRR steam locomotive.
