Bethgon Coalporters were built by Freightcar America. They are built mainly of aluminum to lower empty car weight to about 21 tons. This increaes the coal load that can be carried. The longitudinal tub floor holds 18 more tons of coal over earlier flat bottom designs, while lowers the center of gravity for better stability of the cars.

This release includes six schemes to choose from. These are old stock items with limited quantities and road numbers available. Intermountain did not provide how many or what road numbers are available.
