Firefly Books is offering a variety of books.  To us, the ones that are worthy of attention are the books about railroads. However, maybe one or two more would be of interest to our customers.

St Clair

 

Since 1891, the tunnel beneath the River, The St. Clair Tunnel, running between Sarnia, Ontario, and Port Huron, Michigan, opened for traffic in 1891.  It was, and still is, an engineering wonder. 

Look at the map below and you can see why it was such a great feat:

Sarnia to Huron by rail went straight across, and cut out the thirty minute loop (and the border crossing).
