Most of you have not heard much about Charles Smiley, but he and contributing photographers were monumentally accomplished in the taking of action films.  They followed the trains, much like many train lovers in their cars do today, or they perched on bridges, on telegraph poles if necessary, anywhere to catch the real true-life, thundering-past of one or more engines hauling a train.

D-147 - Canadian Electric Rails

Thanks to our supplier, we have new pictures of the Electrics too:

Another and often never-considered point:  these guys functioned in a time when there were no graffitied-up trains.  The trains were as painted, their colors true to their roads, their cars pristine and gorgeous with shop-paint fresh, shining, and untouched.  Amazing!
