JR SHIKOKI Series 2000 Express "Nanpu"

      Series 2000 connects cities in Honshu and Shikoku Island. It is the world’s first pendulum diesel locomotive and Japan’s first pendulum train, which leans inward on curves. The advance test train of TSE consist emerged in 1989 and won the Laurel Award. The mass production cars of series 2000 first appeared in 1990 to be operated at the maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Now, the train is seen running mixed with the improved series N2000, and the maximum speed has risen up to 130 kilometers per hour.
