This 10 car train boasts exquisite accomodations that are meant to evoke the feeling of a moving luxurious hotel, with two distinctive observation cars with sweeping 5-section railings that conjure to mind the designs of famous industrial artists and evoke a feeling of nostalgia for trains from a bygone era.

Uniquely beautiful. The Twilight Express Mizukaze is a Hybrid Diesel Multiple Unit train that allows it to run on non-electrified tracks as it runs five different tour routes on the western edge of Honshu, Japan’s largest island. With one day tickets starting at around $2250, it is designed with luxury in mind, making this sparkling green beauty a rare piece of Japanese railroad history.

This Set will correctly represent the luxury finish of the train with a brilliantly finished glittering green paint job, gold printing, and special care taken to replicate the distinct details of the train such as the railings around the observation decks, different interior carpet colors on the two observations cars, and the diesel exhaust pieces molded as separate parts on the 1,5,6 and 10th cars. The Set will come packaged in a special double-bookcase with a decorative sleeve, like Kato's previous luxury train releases of the Shikishima and Seven Stars over Kyushu!

Notable Special Features:

   • Interiors of each car are accurately reproduced, down to the unique patterning on the walls of the diner car's kitchen and the observation cars distinct carpet coloring (Blue in car 1, Green in car 10)

   • Lustrously sparkling Green paint scheme with gold trim realistically captured on the scale model.

   • Directional headlights and marker lights on both observation cars, with the observation marker lights illuminating only when the train is moving in the appropriate direction.

   • Prototypical body-mounted tight couplers to represent the electric couplers fitted on the real train.
