They call these the 1940-49 Trucks, but in 1941, shortly after Pearl Harbor, all automobile manufacturers agreed: no more personal use automobiles would be built until after the war; instead, they all turned their production into that of tanks, jeeps, planes, etc.. These may have been planned in 1940, but like many other models, it was late in the decade when they were produced:
