Rapido Announces New HO Scale "Super Continental" 6-6-4 Sleeper Passenger Cars
HO SCALE POST-WAR 6-6-4 SLEEPER 6 SECTIONS - 6 ROOMETTES - 4 BEDROOMS AVAILABLE LATE 2009/EARLY 2010
Our new Post-War 6-6-4 Sleeper is based on Pullman plan 4183A delivered to the CNR in 1954 in their Green series. Each car was named after a Canadian landmark or town beginning with "Green." This car is almost identical to the popular Pine series cars built for Louisville & Nashville, Chicago & Eastern Illinois, and Nashville, Chatanooga and St. Louis around the same time. The main differences are the electrical system and a bathroom window. For most people, it's "close enough."
The Rapido Trains Inc. model features:
Improved underbody detail!
Improved interior to eliminate warping
"Easy-Peasy" battery-operated interior lighting
Full interior detail, including individual seats and a fully detailed galley
Super-detailed 41-BNO-11 or 41-N-11 trucks as appropriate
Factory-painted and installed metal grab irons and stirrups, including interior corridor handrails
All-metal Macdonald-Cartier knuckle couplers
Operating diaphragms with end gates
Separate marker lamps and steam line
The following paint schemes will be available in late 2009/early 2010:
All of our Super Continental Line passenger cars feature battery-powered interior LED lighting which is turned on and off by our Rapido Lighter, essentially a magnet on a stick. Wave the Lighter over the AC hatch on the roof, and the lights turn on. Wave it again, and the lights turn off. No more coach yards filled with lighted cars draining your power pack, and no more flicker! Each car comes with a Rapido Lighter and two batteries.
Replacement batteries are available separately, as are lighting sets so you can upgrade your existing fleet.
