WITH JUNK CONTAINER LOAD
These 50 ft gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends are brown with white lettering and run on Bettendorf trucks. Built in 1957 with a 77-ton capacity for general service, these gondolas were later rebuilt with specialized loading devices for steel service. They continued to be maintained in revenue service through the 1980s before retirement.
WITH ACID CONTAINER LOAD
This 50 ft steel side, 14 panel fixed end gondola is painted dark brown with white lettering and PRR Keystone. It was built in February 1967 by Hawker-Siddeley and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Fixed-end Gondola with tie load.
WITH STEEL SLAB LOAD
This 50 ft steel side, 14 panel fixed end gondola is painted Black with Yellow lettering and large Red Feather logo. It was built in February 1967 by Hawker-Siddeley and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Fixed-end Gondola with tie load.
WITH BLOWER HOUSING LOAD
These 50’ gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends are brown with white lettering and run on Bettendorf trucks. These cars were general service gondolas built in 1953 for Southern Railway. They were rebuilt and repainted in late 1979, and remained on the revenue roster for several more years before being retired.
