Subject: Important Change Made to Porters (Extra Net System) - Please Read
Dear Extra Net - PORTERS Customers: this morning we made some updates and improvements to our extra net (PORTERS) system.
As many of you know we are preparing to launch our PORTERS Points System. In preparation to launch the new frequent buyers points program we are making a number of changes to help make you experience using the PORTERS system easier.
There is one major change we want you to be aware of. Customers have complained in the past, of difficulty loading new products from a manufacturer when the number of new items coming is quite large (usually over 300 items). We can't control how many new items a Manufacturer is planning to release in the future.
An example of this would be all the new "Athearn" items under "Rolling Stock" in "HO Scale" on the extra net. At the moment there are over 800+ items to review. This takes to long for a page to load (especially if you are on dial up). So today we have added "pagination" to the page.
This means when you click on "Athearn" under "Rolling Stock" now you will only see the first 300 items. At the top right hand side of the "Athearn, HO, Rolling Stock" list you will notice a small "NEXT" button. When you finish looking at page one, you can hit "NEXT" and see the following page.
We have already asked our IT staff to make the "NEXT" button larger, with a green background color. We also plan to have another set of buttons ("NEXT" and "PREVIOUS") at the bottom of the page with our next upload later this week.
Thanks for you suggestions for improving the PORTERS system. We will continue to make enhancements in the future.
