The fifth in a series of titles covering Conrail’s first years of operations (1976-1982), this book features more of the finest in early Conrail photography. The book covers Conrail’s “Rainbow Years” in northeastern Ohio, which became a haven for Conrail’s ALCos, F-units, and first-generation power in the railroad’s earliest years. A smattering of freshly painted Conrail blue locomotives and leased power from other railroads mingled with the patched power from Conrail’s predecessors, adding to the color palette. This book covers the extensive freight operations on ex-PC and ex-EL lines in the area, with over 160 full-color images of Conrail’s unique Rainbow Years.

The third in a series of titles covering the Susquehanna from the 1940s through 1990s, this book features over 150 previously unpublished black & white and color photos covering the railroad’s west end. Coverage includes both freight and passenger operations from the railroad’s earliest diesel operations through its rebirth in the 1980s as a regional carrier. This book includes rare photographic coverage of the NYS&W main line from Butler to Sparta (out of service in 1971 and reactivated in 1986), the western end of the main line from Sparta to Hainesburg (abandoned in 1962), and the Hanford Branch from Beaver Lake to Hanford (abandoned in 1957).

The second in a series of titles covering railroad operations around Port Jervis, New York, this book will cover the time from the Erie Railroad’s merger with the Lackawanna Railroad in 1960 through the Erie Lackawanna’s 1972 bankruptcy up to its merger into Conrail in 1976. This book is illustrated with never-before-seen black and white and color photography, as well as a variety of historic maps.

Royalties from sales of this title will be donated to the Tri-States Railway Preservation Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating a museum of local railroad history in a boxcar at the former Erie turntable site in Port Jervis, New York.
