The EMD SD40 is an American 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors.   Between 1966 and 1972, GM built 1268 of these locomotives before introducing the new SD40-2.  The SD40s operated throughout the US and Canada for decades.  Broadway Limited Imports is proud to announce our first production of these diesel models in 2022.
