Walthers Cornerstone has announced New Structures (Kits)

Open Air Intermodal Shed

This useful structure can be found trackside and at industrial or agricultural locations in communities across the country. It is used to keep bulk materials, machinery, lumber and so much more out of the weather. Locate it trackside for your transload operations or anywhere you need open storage. The kit includes both the large shed on a concrete base and a loading ramp.

Corn Syrup Transfer

Model the vital transition of cargo between railcars and trucks with incredible detail with this Corn Syrup Transfer Facility. Corn syrup is used in baked goods, candies, beverages, canned fruits and vegetables and pharmaceuticals. The liquid is transloaded from tank cars to storage tanks, then into tanker trucks for delivery to industries. Corn syrup benefits from steam heat to help it flow so small boilers are a common feature of sites like this. Trucks pull into the transfer garage to make the transload under cover from the weather. Of course the site manager needs a place to do paperwork and a converted shipping container makes a great office.

This kit includes:

• Transfer garage with overhead access doors and loading platform
• Four large storage tanks for syrup containment
• Mobile boiler house for auxiliary services like steam and heat
• Shipping container-style mobile office for site operations
• Intricate piping for unloading railcars into storage tanks or trailers
• Parts molded in ivory, light gray, yellow, tan and gray plastic

Boiler House

This structure started life as a shipping container and now serves as a boiler house to provide auxiliary steam and heat for transload facilities or other industrial sites. The utilitarian design is common and fits well into any modern scene.

This structure is also part of the Cornerstone Corn Syrup Transfer Facility (933-4181), sold separately, and is one of many Walthers Cornerstone structures.
