Dear HO Scale Customers;
Walthers Mainline is excited to announce the New ALCo RSC-2 Diesel Locomotives

Add a unique branchline hauler to your roster with the WalthersMainline Alco RSC-2. Essentially a modified version of a four-axle Alco RS-2, the RSC-2’s six axles spread the locomotive’s weight more evenly along the lighter rail found on branch and secondary lines. First built in 1946, the 1,500 hp Alco RSC-2 hauled freight and passenger trains and even served in yard switcher duty through the 1950s into the 1970s.

Accurately sized, the WalthersMainline model captures the details of the RSC-2, including its distinctive long trucks. A version is available with factory-installed ESU Sound & DCC that provides realistic sounds, including the growl of the Alco 244 prime mover.

Features of this WalthersMainline model include:
- Fully DCC compatible
- 14, 28 or 128 speed steps
- Dual mode DC & DCC
- 4 Air horns changeable by CVs
- 2 bells changeable by CVs
- Five-pole skew-wound motor
- 14 to 1 gear ratio for exceptional slow-speed performance
- Helical-cut gears for quiet operation and easy multiple unit operation
- All-wheel drive and electrical pickup
- Machined brass flywheel
