New System Improvements from Pacific Western Rail

Dear Customers: over the past few weeks we have begun to make a number of upgrades to the Software that runs our Website and Management Information Systems. There are changes taking place many of you will notice and some that are taking place behind the scenes to improve productivity you will not see.

The most obvious change you will notice on the website has happened on the main "Search" page. If you go to "Search" you will notice a series of check buttons along the bottom of the option box.

You may wonder what are the buttons marked "In Stock", "New Arrival", "Available", "Coming Soon", "Call for Availability", & "Sold Out", for. Well we have been asked by customers "if we could find a way for them to search without having to look at all the items previously sold out".

Well now you can do that (and much more). Just simply do your search like you always have, but them remove the check mark for any of the stock status fields you do not want to see. i.e. if you want to see all the Great Northern items in HO Scale less all the items "Sold Out" and "Call for Availability", then activate Scale "HO", Road "Great Northern", and then remove the green tick mark from "Sold Out", and "Call for Availability". You will then just see all items, "In Stock, "New Arrivals", "Available", & "Coming Soon" that are HO and Great Northern.

We hope this will make you searching for items on our data base that much more efficient.

You will also notice a significant increase in the speed of the system. Now that we have 91,000 items on the Data Base, we had to make changes to increase the speed, to offset the time needed tro search through so many items.

There will be additional changes coming in the next few days and weeks. Also we will have a major announcement that will be of interest to all our customers. So stay turned.

Thank you, Pacific Western Rail Management
