Today, BNSF Logistics L.L.C. announced it acquired Diversified Freight Logistics Inc. and Royal Cargo Line (known together as “DFL”). Terms were not disclosed.

DFL will operate as “BNSF Logistics International,” a division of BNSF Logistics providing air and ocean import and export services, and customs brokerage.

“Stretching our services to encompass the international freight management spectrum is consistent with our recurring theme of evolving BNSF Logistics according to customer demand,” said BNSF Logistics Vice President and General Manager Eric Wolfe in a prepared statement.

An indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp., BNSF Logistics provides supply chain solutions ranging from management and execution of single-shipment transactions to daily management of distribution and sourcing networks.

2006

December, 2006: BNSF Logistics acquired specific assets of Pro-Am Transportation Services, Inc., of Jamestown, North Dakota, a third-party logistics company.

"Pro-Am is an excellent operating company, with a large base of industrial business that is complementary to our portfolio, adding highly desired modal extension and depth," stated Vice President and General Manager, Eric Wolfe.

2004

May, 2004: BNSF Logistics, LLC acquired specific assets of Rite Choice Transport, Inc. a Roland, OK based third-party logistics company specializing in the perishable and refrigerated services markets.

According to Vice President and General Manager, Eric Wolfe, “The acquisition of Rite-Choice further demonstrates our commitment to align BNSF Logistics with what our customers are demanding. We are pleased to add Rite Choice’s experience in the perishables and refrigerated market to our service offerings.”

June, 2004: BNSF Logistics, LLC acquired Sumark Services, Inc. a Versailles, Ohio-based third-party logistics company that provides multi-modal transportation execution, nationwide.

“The symmetry between these organizations was remarkable. The Sumark team is excited to join BNSF Logistics, inject what made Sumark successful throughout the years, and expand our reach through access to additional product lines and services. Ultimately, the customers will receive the most significant benefits,” said Eric Wolfe.

2003

September, 2003: BNSF Logistics, LLC acquired MRS Companies based in Godfrey, IL a brokerage and freight forwarder that serves retail, furniture and consumer packaged goods companies nationwide.

"We are pleased to add the experience and customer base that [MRS Companies] has built over the years to our steadily growing business.”

2002

August, 2002: Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (NYSE: BNI) acquired specific assets of Clicklogistics, Inc., which were utilized to form the management infrastructure and customer base of the indirect and wholly owned subsidiary BNSF Logistics, LLC.

"The formation of BNSF Logistics is a further example of our commitment to reach deeper into our customers' supply chains," said Matt Rose, BNSF chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Through BNSF Logistics, BNSF plans to provide customers with more efficient logistics solutions."
