Attention All N Scale Modelers:

       North American Railcar has announced new delivery dates for their Hawker Siddeley Four Bay Covered Hoppers.  NARCorp is now projecting the arrival of these incredible accurate models for late 2010 or early 2011.  It has always been NARCorp's policy not to release any products until they are done correctly.  And these are no exception.  

      NARCorp is very insistant the the models are done accurately not only as to the detail on the car but also the paint color and road number must be correct.  Below you will see some of the incredible (model specific) detail on each car. One other point re the Road Numbers we use for all cars, we have researched the history of each paint scheme and have made sure all cars being delivered have number specific to cars built by Hawker Siddeley.

Re the Blue Alberta Take a Break Cars: There were 1000 cars delivered to The Governement of Alberta. 500 were asigned to CN. All cars were built by National Steel Car. 500 cars were asigned to CP. 300 of them were built by National Steel Car (the model made by Intermountain). The 200 remaining cars were built by Hawker Siddeley. That is why we will only produce Alberta cars that come from the 200 built by HS and used by CP.

Re the Black CP Rail MultiMark cars, we have made sure only road numbers built by Hawker Siddeley have been used.

Re the Saskatchewan Potash, Canpotex, and CN brown url website cars we have used all appropriate road numbers for cars delivered by Hawker Siddeley, and all Potash cars have high mounted air tanks on the end of the car. We also included the external brake rod and slackner (a major spotting feature of the cars) on the side of sill (see image below).

Re the Red Gov't of Canada cars, you will notice we have only built cars with CNWX CN asigned numbers. Why, Hawker Siddeley only made Red Gov't Canada cars that were assigned to CN (the order was split and the cars for CP were made by Marine Industries - a different body).

Re the Salmon Colored Gov't of Canada cars, you will notice we have only built cars with CPWX asigned numbers. Why, Hawker Siddeley only made Salmon colored Governement of Canada cars that were asigned to CP  (the order was split and the other cars for CP were made by Marine Industries, and National Steel Car - both different bodies).

Re the Wheat Board of Canada cars, these cars were built by all three major Canadian car builders, and the road numbers we used are appropriate for Hawker Siddeley.

Re the Government of Saskatchewan Heritage cars with both CP and CN assigned reporting marks: The Government of Saskatchewan bought all their Cylindrical Hoppers from Hawker Siddeley. No cars in a Saskatchewan Grain Car Corporation (Government of Saskatchewan) paint scheme were ever built by National Steel Car. All of their cars are Harker Siddeley built cars.

 Etched metal roof walks are standard - check out the number of roof walk supports.

There are two different types of roof supports.

 With three different roof hatches - round, trough and "Zee" type,

one size doesn't fit all.

 Depending on the car, the position of the air reservoir will vary

(High or Low)

 If the car has external brake lines, the separate pieces are mounted

with the lash adjusters on the outside of the sill.

 The builders plate is an intragal part of any model.  

      These are but a few of the model features (model dependant) that can be found on these beautiful cars. 

   Again, NARCorp will only release these when the manufacturer does then correctly.  We are confident that you would rather have a correctly done model than one with errors that you won't be happy with.
