Dear N Scale Customers:

As many of you are aware last year we announced a special run car with Fox Valley Models, called the Pan Am "Rio" car. At the time we told customers if you bought any 24 Fox Valley cars, you would qualify to get the car for free. And if you bought any 12 Fox Valley cars we would sell you the car for face value.

Well we received the first sample images of the new car. You will see it above.

Many of you are aware we activated our "PORTERS Lounge" a few months ago, and promised we would be adding exclusive products in the future. When we first announced the "Rio" car we did not have the "PORTERS Lounge" functional yet. So we promised customers could qualify to earn the car by completing the requirement of purchasing 12 or 24 Fox Valley cars. Now that we have activated the "PORTERS Lounge" we will shift all qualifying orders to the "PORTERS Lounge" so customers can use their point totals to acquire the Pan Am "Rio" car.

Customers will need to redeem 1290 PORTERS points and 1290 Fox Valley Manufacturers Points to receive the Pan Am "Rio" car. We created the second hurdle (Fox Valley Manufacturers Points) that need to redeemed along with their PORTERS Points, so we could insure Fox Valley the customers receiving the Pan Am "Rio" car had done so by supporting Fox Valley and purchasing their product.

By moving all activity to the PORTERS points reward system, it will enable customers to use other Fox Valley products such as wheel sets and Engines to qualify for the special cars.

We can tell you only 50 cars are being built and Fox Valley has agreed never to re-run the road number or unique graphics on the car.


This Special Run Pan Am Boxcar is not available to buy, it is earned. Customers will receive special "Fox Valley Frequent Buyer Points" when purchasing Fox Valley Products from Pacific Western Rail. Call Pacific Western Rail to ask for details.

If you wish to reserve one of the Pan Am "Rio" cars, you can do so by going to your home page on your PORTERS account. Then go to the right hand side of the page and go to the "Club Lounge" and click on the "Visit the Club Lounge" to see the unique cars.

If you don't have a PORTERS account, you can apply. It easy to use and their is no cost to join and no minimum to purchase. The PORTERS system is great tool to help you manage and control your train purchases.
