RailKing steam locomotives like the Rugged Rails 4-6-0 feature a rugged die-cast metal body and chassis for years of use. The ABS tender shell is mounted atop a stamped metal chassis and die-cast metal tender trucks and houses a digital Loco-Sound board that recreates the chuffing of a steam engine, the wail of its whistle and chime of its bell.

Underneath the hood of the steam locomotive lies a powerful flywheel-equipped motor and a synchronized puffing smoke unit. The constant voltage headlight glows bright and strong and the pulling power of the engine is unmatched in this class of traditional O gauge models.
