Many customer have ordered our North American Railcar Corp Government of Alberta “Take An Alberta Break – Visit....” Hawker Siddeley 4550 Cu. Ft. cylindrical hoppers. These orders have accelerated since we updated the status and pending delivery of these cars. Several hundred have now been reserved.

There have been a few customers who were not clear on what they would receive when placing an order. To avoid any confusion, the staff of Pacific Western Rail Systems would like to clearly explain what the customer will receive when they order this, or any North American Railcar Corp car.

Product Listings

Most North American Railcar Corp cars are available in multiple road numbers. This will be noted in the short description of the car, and will read something like this, “Road Numbers 1-12 Available", as shown below, first as the public website listing appears, and second, as the PORTERS listing appears:

Reserving Cars

When ordering these cars, the customer will receive one car, not all the road numbers available. Items placed in the cart will always default to one, as shown on the View Cart page below:

Changing Quantity

If a customer wishes to order more than one road number, they must change the quantity in the cart on the View Cart page during check out. For example, if the customer wants to order three road numbers, they must change the quantity from 1 to 3, as shown in the pictures below:

After updating the quantity, the customer must click on the update cart button to recalculate the order total. The total and subtotal will be updated, as shown below:

Requesting Specific Road Numbers

If a customer has a preference for specific road numbers of a car, this should be noted in the “Notes” box on the Checkout > Contact Information page during checkout. Every effort is made to accommodate these requests, however we cannot guarantee specific numbers requested due to limited quantities. Preference is given to those customers ordering all available road numbers in any given product release.

Some customers may be confused by this, as in the past we did sell car sets. These were our custom Intermountain sets manufactured exclusively for Pacific Western Rail Systems. Many came in 3-Packs. All North American Railcar Corp cars are sold individually, not in sets.

If a customer has placed an order in the past few days with out changing the quantity, and expects to receive more than one car, this is not the case. We will be contacting all customers who have placed orders for these cars to verify how many cars they ordered. Customers may also call the toll free train addiction hotline number at (866) 840-7777 during normal business hours if they have any questions regarding their orders.
