These gondolas were manufactured in four different factories in various parts of Canada. The manufacturers were: National Steel Car, Hawker Siddeley, Marine Industries and CN Transcona Shops. Being built by four manufactures means there are differences among the prototypes.

These gondolas were designed to cary coal and sulphur.
The sulphur gondolas have to be coated on the inside to prevent corrsion.
As you can clearly see these gondolas are "your daddies" model train cars. There are structural differences that you won't find coming from your usual model manufacturer.
