GUARANTEED DELIVERY

The emerald green E5 Shinkansen (bullet train) entered service in 2011, offering high speed service between metropolitan Tokyo and Shin Aomori in the northernmost tip of Japan. With a top speed of 320 kph (nearly 200mph), it has earned the nickname “Hayabusa” (Falcon). Being one of the newest bullet trains in service, it’s filled with cutting-edge technology to ensure that it is both environmentally friendly as well as quiet and smooth despite its high speed – with its unique aerodynamic design, fully enclosed and skirted trucks, high pantograph covers to reduce noise and a counterbalanced suspension that tilts and sways in curves to maintain a smooth ride.

  • This release will allow modelers to create the full 10 car consist by combining all three available car sets.
  • Fitted with the latest Kato truck-drive mechanism, this model will easily achieve the scale speed of 320 kph
  • The different passenger cars will have uniquely molded interiors to accurately model the different types
  • The train will have a built-in suspension system that, like the prototype, will allow the car bodies to tilt and sway while running through curves.
  • The lead car will have an opening nose, like the prototype, allowing the E5 “Hayabusa” to couple together to a planned HO E6 “Super Komachi” Shinkansen in the future.
  • Will be able to navigate R370 Curves.

NOTE: Prices and information are tentative and may change prior to release. Note: this release will likely need soldering and other modifications to be used with DCC systems. It will also be compatible with Kato 7-504 Interior Lighting kits.

Pre-orders MUST be received by August 22nd, 2013!
