HO Scale Replicas Page – Bethlehem Quad Hopper
Tangent Scale Models is proud to introduce a new run of our HO Scale Bethlehem Steel 3600 cubic foot quad hoppers – with coal load. These distinctive 100 ton quad hoppers match the Union Pacific specification and were built by Bethlehem Steel in the 1970s. Our UP replicas represent more than 6,900 “quad” hoppers, UP’s largest fleet of coal hoppers in company history.
This is NOT a pre-order announcement. Our NEW Ready to Run replicas are available NOW. New paint schemes available today:
For UP modelers: 13 different paint schemes with new car numbers including:
- Union Pacific (UP) in the classic, traditional "Freight Car Red” paint with large Union Pacific spelled out in white. Please note these red cars include painted trucks to match the carbody color, just like UP paint practices! These cars are now available again in 12 new road numbers for 2014.
- Union Pacific (UP) "Original H-100-19" in the classic, traditional "Freight Car Red” paint with large Union Pacific spelled out in white, but slightly different than than the H-100-16 class. Please note these red cars include painted trucks to match the carbody color, just like UP’s 1970s paint practices! These cars are now available in 12 new road numbers for 2014.
- Union Pacific (UP) "Original H-100-17" in the traditional "All-Black” paint with yellow ends designating the rotary coupler ends. This scheme includes the large Union Pacific spelled out in white on the carside. Because these cars initially operated in unit train services, Tangent is pleased to offer 12 new roadnumbers of these UP hoppers for 2014.
- NEW SCHEME: UP "1989 H-100-17 Black Repaint" in the black carbody with yellow ends scheme, with classic UP fonts but simplified with a red, white, and blue UP shield.
- NEW SCHEME: UP "1997 H-100-19" Black Repaint V2” in the black carbody with yellow ends scheme, with modernized UP fonts but simplified with a red, white, and blue UP shield. This is a variation on an earlier repaint scheme we offered previously and sold out, but with subtle lettering differences, and a different location for the UP shield. As always, we work off prototype photos and select all of our numbers accordingly.
