Boxcars have been around since the beginning of railroading. For much of that time, they were the most used piece of rolling stock, carrying all kinds of goods. As intermodal operations have grown, boxcars have been somewhat overshadowed by trailers and containers. However, they are still used in large numbers to carry a wide variety of goods. These PS-1 60 ft boxcars were a common sight on many railroads.
