Dear HO Scale Customers: Over the weekend we attended the NMRA Show in Cleveland. The show was great and we met many of our existing customers and took the names of many new customers who wish to become PORTERS members. We will get to you over the next 1-3 weeks to get you set up.
The day before the show, we had our factory in China, Fedex to us the night before the show test shots of the 5 different bodies for the new 4275 cu ft National Steel Car Potash Car. So we went outside and photographed them in natural sunlight for you. Here they are below.
Now at first glance all the cars might look the same to you, but there are real diferences.
PTEX - First Version of the car - notice there are 6 sheets of metal welded together. Also notice betwen the bays below the car has a distinct rounded curvature between the bays.
CGLX and CITX Lease - Second Version of the car - notice there are 8 sheets of metal welded together. Also notice betwen the bays below the car has a distinct curvature between the bays. Hard to see from this angle, but it is there.
CEFX Lease / POTX Potash Corp (early cars) - Third Version of the car - notice there are 8 sheets of metal welded together. Also notice betwen the bays below the car has a flat curvature between the bays.
POTX Potash Corp (Later cars) - Fourth Version of the car - notice there are 8 sheets of metal welded together. Also notice betwen the bays below the car has a flat curvature between the bays. Notice the sills are truncated, to allow snow and ice to be removed from the car.
CNPX Canpotx Ownws Cars - Fifth Version of the car - notice there are 9 sheets of metal welded together. Also notice betwen the bays below the car has a flat curvature between the bays. Notice the sills are truncated, to allow snow and ice to be removed from the car.
