We continually asses our website and evaluate new improvements that can be made to make it more useful for our customers. Sometimes, these changes are made behind the scenes and improve the performance of the website, while other times they are changes visible to our customers. Recently, we have made some improvements that customers will notice.
The first improvement is a new stock status tag that indicates an item is sold out at the manufacturer. This tag will only appear when we have stock of an item that is sold out at the manufacturer. It will appear in combination with either the New Arrival or In Stock status indicators, as shown in the image below:

The second improvement we believe will be helpful to modelers adds the ability to sort products by factory installed DCC and/or factory installed Sound. These sorting options are located above the listings on the reservation sheet, where applicable. They are also found on the Advanced Search page of the public website. Below is an image of their appearance on the reservation sheet within the PORTERS Account System:

The third improvement involves our e-mail newsletters. These are generally sent out to our customers on a weekly basis and are scale specific. Over time, customers may change scales and preferences in modeling and this change will allow them to tailor their e-mail preferences to match. This feature has been added to the home screen in the PORTERS Account System.
Modelers can subscribe to the various e-mails lists they are interested in. Each e-mail we have has a similar feature and also includes the ability to unsubscribe at any time. We do not share our e-mail list, nor do we e-mail newsletters to customers who have opted out of our e-mails. Customers who opt out of the e-mail newsletters will still receive e-mails regarding orders with Pacific Western Rail Systems. The update form is shown below:

We plan to add a similar feature to the public website in the future so customers who are not PORTERS Members can also manage their e-mail preferences.
