The 18000-18099 series boxcars were built in 1962 by Pullman Standard. They came equipped with 'Hydroframe-60' 60"-travel cushion underframes; a feature that was prominently advertised on the sides of the car. They were originally painted light green with black ends, although some cars were repainted solid green when they went through the Jackson Shops for class repairs around 1980. A few cars recieved solid red paint at this time.
