This 33' H-5 class twin bay hopper with rib sides was originally built in October of 1939, by Bethlehem Steel Co. and rebuilt at the Elkins, Virginia shops in June of 1961. This series became a standard for coal hoppers on the Western Maryland and many survived thirty or more years of hard work for the Virginia coal mines.
