The prototypes of this small tug were built for the US Army Transportation Corps. in the early 1950s; some also served the Navy and Air Force. With a powerful diesel engine and a light draft, the design was well suited to many civilian uses, and these hard-working vessels can be found serving towing operators, marine contractors and others.
