Newly Announced HOn3 Flat Cars

Of all cars designs in the rolling stock fleets of the D&RGW narrow guage, the flat car was without question the most versitile and most abused!

Its many uses stemmed from the relative lack of restrictions for the kins of loads it could bear. Many diverse lading combinations were possible, ranging from lumber to farm and industrial equipment. In essence , if a load was not a good fit for a boxcar, a flat car could likely do the job.

Rio Grande Southern Flat Car

No.0500 was converted from D&RGW 600 and became RGS Construction car No. C-18.

By 1904, it became work flat car No. 0500 and lasted until near the end of RGS operations.
