This F7 B unit locomotive was painted gray and lettered in white. It was built in February of 1953. This unit stayed with the SP for it's entire working life. In 1959, SP standardized with a paint scheme of dark gray, white lettering and a red "winged" nose (A units). This scheme was dubbed "Bloody Nose" by railfans.
