The Series 383 Wide View "Shinano" is a limited express tilting Electric Multiple Unit operated by Central Japan Railway Company Tokaido Main Line Shinano Limited Express services. JR Central developed the 383 series in order to shorten the required time and improve passenger's accommodation in 1994 on these trips. 383 series adopt 2 car unit consisted of 1 motored car and 1 trailer car. The 383 series of EMU cars are equipped with tilting system with electrical control in order to maintain speed through curves and improve ride comfort. All air conditioners, including those of motored cars, are installed under the floor in order to make their center of gravity lower.
