In 1975, Bombardier teamed with Toronto's GO Transit to design a bi-level commuter coach capable of carrying 130 passengers. Two years later, the first of these cars went into service and GO Transit continues to have the largest fleet with over 300 cars. In 1992, Southern California's Metrolink started service and has the second largest fleet of 122 cars.
