These 50’ rib side box cars with plug doors and no roofwalks are painted brown with white lettering. They were built in May 1977 by American Car & Foundry and run on roller bearing trucks. The Kansas City Southern was incorporated January 8, 1887, and began operating August 18, 1890. The road extended westward across the Kaw River into Argentine, KS, up the bluffs into the wholesale and industrial districts of Kansas City, and eastward to Independence, MO. Today, the Kansas City Southern Railway is an  international railway providing seamless rail services for North American shippers.
