This 50’ standard box car with single door is painted light blue with black roof and ends. It displays a white and blue logo and white lettering. This car was built in May 1957 by American Car & Foundry, serviced in September 1958 and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Just two cars were assigned to Flinkote Company service (92101 & 92102), receiving this NYC experimental scheme of black roof and ends with unique blue paint on sides and white lettering. A few months later, the NYC began painting their freight cars NYC Century Green. The “DF” initials on the door let the customer know this car offers damage free delivery of customer cargo.
