These 40’ box cars with plug doors are painted brown with reefer orange sides and black kickboard and sill. They carry the "Early Bird Fast Freight Service” circular emblem with white lettering and run on black Bettendorf trucks. Owned by Merchants Despatch Transportation Corporation and leased by the New York Central System, these 100 cars were originally built in 1944. They were rebuilt to RB class refrigerators in April 1958 and adorned with the “Early Bird Fast Freight” emblem. Seen in Fort Worth, TX in August 1961.
