This 83’ lightweight smoothside passenger car is painted aluminum with black logo and lettering. It was built in 1942 by Pullman-Standard, serviced in 1947, and runs on four wheel passenger trucks. It was configured with six sections, six roomettes and four bedrooms. The Rock Island cars originally carried the Pullman Standard series numbers 500-506. The numbering was replaced with the “Golden” series names Rock Island numbering in 1947.   The Rock Island acquired these seven cars when the Pullman monopoly on ‘sleeping service’ was ended.
