All models are compatible with the NMRA DCC standards and Recommended Practices and are manufactured in Durango, Colorado. They include SoundTraxx' Hyperdrive™ Motion Control System, which is found in all Tsunami Digital Sound Decoders and incorporates advanced motor control features such as High Resolution Speed Steps and High Frequency PWM Drive (Pulse-Width-Modulation) to help to eliminate motor 'hum'. Hyperdrive also includes such features as Back-EMF control, programmable speed curves, and adjustable momentum.

The N-Scale decoder are DCC-Only, 2-function decoders. They measure just 13mm x 9mm. The MC1Z102 is manufactured with an NEM651 6-pin connector. The MC1Z102SQ is manufactured as a versatile, universal-style decoder with a permanently attached wire harness.
