This 50’ box car with plug Door is painted gray with blue ends and side sills. Black lettering with blue, red and white logos. It was built by North American Car Corporation of Chicago and leased to Kerr-Mcgee Corporation. It bears a service date of June 1968 and runs the Midwest on Barber roller bearing trucks. Founded in 1929 at Ada, Oklahoma, the Kerr- McGee Corporation was an energy company involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas resources. Kerr-McGee acquired American Potash & Chemical Corporation in 1967 and the operation became known as Trona Chemicals, named for the town of Trona (also a mineral mined in the area.)
