     These H-70-16 class PS-2 two-bay covered hoppers are painted light gray with large black ‘SOUTHERN PACIFIC’ herald and black lettering. It was built in May 1957 by Pullman-Standard, serviced in February 1963 in Sacramento, and runs on roller bearing trucks. The principle commodity of these hoppers is cement. Other typical lading includes sand, potash, soda ash, lime, alumina, fertilizers, dolomite, soap, salt, plastic pellets and flour. The PS-2 was designed to withstand the corrosive effects of some of the laded material and keep regulated maintenance to a minimum.
