Available On: March 1, 2011

This 50’ box car with plug and sliding doors and no roofwalk is painted yellow with the large “Laurentian Shield,” applied in the 1960s to 1970s. Lettering is in blue. The car was built in July 1964 by Great American Transportation, serviced in April 1977, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. From May 1976 to October 1977, the shop at Oneonta simplified the yellow box cars by not painting the ends black. The “T” data scheme
appeared about that same time, coinciding with the birth of the Conrail in April 1976.
