With seating for as few as 36-passengers, in deluxe swivel-chairs, the New Haven's
  

  Except for the seating arrangement, which included a 14-seat smoking lounge at  the vestibule end, these first-class cars were, otherwise, identical to the 300-series  parlors. Similarly, they were assigned to trains such as the road's premier,  all First-Class, Merchants Limited.
